THINGS I LEARNED FROM MY FIRST NYFW 👇🏻 save for next time you want to plan a visit! I wanted to share this because @ohh.miaa and I literally had no idea where to start and were winging our first fashion week. We booked tickets and told people we were going to fashion week before we even had shows to go to! Hope this helps anyone who does want to go in the future 🫶🏻 👉🏼 It’s OK if your imposters syndrome or if fomo kicks in. NYC is such a big city with so many events, celebs, etc around during fashion week and don’t let this tell you that you aren’t good enough to be there! Just going to your first fashion week is a big step in itself and take it as an opportunity to network with brands and other creators and shoot content! 👉🏼 Send emails in advance to US based agencies & brands you’ve worked with in the past to find out what events are going on in the city 👉🏼 Download GPS radar to find events in NYC 👉🏼 There are lots of free events going on in the city that anyone visiting can attend! Look at eventbrite for events going on and get tickets to these! 👉🏼 Pack comfy shoes too especially if you plan to be walking lots around the city 😅 👉🏼 if you’re going from Canada, plan in advance if you’re on a tighter budget! Unless a brand is bringing you, New York can definitely get expensive so I’d account for that and plan ahead for where you want to eat based on what parts of the city you’re in!
