Happy Friday and I'm feeling a little romantic today so bear with me. 😊🙏 Scotland in general to me feels like a man. A man who works hard and doesn't worry too much about the way he looks. The kind of man that is unperturbed by changeable things such as the weather or outside interferences. There is beauty in its rugged masculinity. The rough, big hands, the calluses of nature, evidence of the hardwork in the sharpness. The wind and rain battered coastlines, the unfaltering strength, rough terrains of the mountains. It is unrefined but that it the entire beauty of this part of the world and my attraction to it. I love the way it is unaware of its own natural beauty, going about it's every day life against the harsh weather but when you catch it at a particularly tender moment in the right light or even in its most moodiest, there is a parallel to a certain type of masculinity. Well the kind of man I am attracted to anyway. Maybe I am alone in this thought or something is wrong with me. I've been often told that so I'm used to it. There are areas that seem almost inhabitable, unlovable even but I have an affinity to those attributes. I have a soft spot for resilience, perseverance and the untamed. There is a huge attraction to the silent burdens. I pondered with these thoughts as I watched the rugged beauty of Scotland and how I feel about my own personal attractions 🩷. Perhaps I am getting carried away with my romanticisation but as I lay here watching the landscape with my ear to the ground as I do on the chest of my love, I felt a sense of peace. I felt it breath deep and there is something protective, tender and I felt safe in its embrace even if the clouds moved as fast as my heartbeat with changes.
