I got my first “perfume” when I was 9. It was from a fancy store called The Body Shop at Orchard Park Mall. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew my older sisters and mom shopped there…So, I was joining an elite club. I could literally smell it. I tried every one. I finally found it. It was a vanilla spray, Eau de toilet. Very fancy stuff. It was just as big of a deal for 37 year old me tonight, to walk into the same, but beautifully renovated, @thebodyshop This time, I was there to represent the little charity that could @mamasformamas as the local charity partner for their grand re-opening tonight… It was a big deal. For adult me, yes, but more so for 9 year old Shannon, and all of other little ones who just want to belong. To have nice smelling lotion and body wash, heck maybe even some bubble bath and tea tree face product for teens. Thanks to @thebodyshop we will be able to provide this experience to hundreds of mamas, kids & at-risk teens. We will be able to provide a beautiful bubble bath with their food and clothing hamper, lotion and face wash with an extra dose of love and dignity for families who’ve had it harder than ever this year. They will be available at our new and fully stocked Karma Market after our grand opening Oct 5th 🤍 Mamas and I were both born and raised in Kelowna & I just have to say we are certainly feeling the full circle Okanagan love.
