WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP! FINALIST! Today I found out that I am one of the 85 finalists in the Hornsby Art Prize, chosen from over 600 entries from around Australia. Thrilled to see my friend @nicmasonartist is also there with me... yahoo #regionalartists ! Thank you @hornsbycouncil. This is one of the works that I have made as I explore the materiality of #breadtags as part of @the_breadtag_project_, drawing awareness of plastic pollution, problematic single use plastic, waste as resource and how we place no value on things that use valuable resources, time and energy. I aim to transform these tags from being microplastics and toxic landfill into something with purpose and story. The tags are sent to me from people around the world, so in a sense, they, YOU, are collaborators in these artworks. They are integral contributors to the process and the art.
