Thanks to @geekyelephant, I discovered this unassuming Vietnamese eatery in the basement of Orchard Central. We literally bumped into each other at OC, and she was like “hey have you been to this Vietnamese place where the owners & servers are hearing-impaired?” And I was like what, no… It seems this is run by a husband & wife team (I believe hubby is local whilst wifey is Vietnamese), both hearing-impaired. So of course I’ll go check them out that very night. It was a breeze to order, and I had their spicy beef combo pho ($13). There is no MSG, service charge or GST. Say whuuuut 😍😍😍 I think the pho was flavourful, and suitably spicy! 😍 no MSG means that the broth was quite delightful but punchy enough. Very comforting meal. Honestly I will go back. I didn’t realise such an eatery existed. It’s humble and unassuming. And the owners and staff were smiley and friendly. I asked for the spiciness to be increased and the owner was like, gesturing “MORE SPICY? Are you sure?” Hahaha and he laughed and gave me a thumbs up.
