Thank you, President @halimahyacob, for your exemplary service and grounded leadership over the past six years! During my time at @mccysg, you were a great ally for our work in developing a cohesive society, particularly in promoting inter-racial and inter-religion understanding. You were also a great supporter of the sports and arts sectors, and pushed for greater opportunities for people of all abilities to participate. I am grateful for the support you’ve shown towards our work at @msesingapore. We are both firm believers that our Singapore Story demonstrates that sustainability and economic growth need not be mutually exclusive. As patron of the President’s Award for the Environment, you recognised the outstanding contributions by environmental champions from the public, private, and people sectors. As the first female president of Singapore, you’ve surely inspired many young women and girls to strive to be leaders of tomorrow. I am sure that you will continue to promote gender equality and women’s issues, as more can and must be done to build on the good progress over the past decades.
