The Islamic Republic of Iran, since its creation, has suppressed, tortured and killed thousands of opponents, especially women. After the violent death of Mahsa Amini one year ago, killed by religious moral police, Iranian women and men have been uprising against the destructive tyranny of the fundamentalist regime. I took this photo of female political prisoners in Evin Prison, Tehran, in 1983.
