It is said that among teenagers, suicide attempts may be associated with feelings of stress, self-doubt, pressure to succeed, financial uncertainty, disappointment, and loss. At 12 years old, I tried to take my own life. Even in knowing how much my parents loved me, the feeling of isolation and self loathing was too overpowering to drown out at a point. With my parents financial stressors turning them against each other left me estranged. I felt alone. Insignificant. Like I wasn’t good enough to amount to anything. Needless to say, I am still here today. I am now 31 years old and often think about what advice I could offer to my younger self and HOLD ON just fits perfectly. Without the pain of our pasts, we would have no way to grow. The message of HOLD ON speaks to all of humanity through all walks of life. It WILL get better. You CAN prosper on. You are stronger than you think. Thank you to everyone involved with all of my heart for being a part of bringing this video to life.
