Do not sleep on this state park in the fall 😍🍁!! 📍Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia This state park (along with this whole area of WV) has INCREDIBLE fall foliage!! And plenty of gorgeous overlooks, trails, waterfalls etc to go along with it! 📌 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴! 🍁 Peak foliage (in the past years I’ve been) was around the 2nd week of October. However, I see on WV’s fall foliage prediction map that peak may be a bit sooner there this year. ⭐️ Must-sees at Blackwater Falls State Park: •Blackwater Falls (its namesake) •Lindy Point •Pendleton Point •Elakala Falls •Balanced Rock •Pace Point 🍽 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐬: Davis. In Davis, you can find a cute little main street with many food options! We opted for Sirianni’s Cafe and you can’t go wrong with Hellbender Burritos, as well! Also, grab beer from Stumptown Ales! There’s several options for places to stay around Davis, too (I just haven’t stayed in any of them myself yet). 🏕 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲? (My personal faves)… •Red Creek Campground in the Dolly Sods is such a dope place to tent, car camp or stay in your van/truck camper! (About 50 mins from Blackwater). •It’s a primitive campground (no showers, hookups of any kind or water) but the peace and quiet PLUS proximity to the trails are unmatched. It’s $11 / night per site! ✨ Blackwater Falls SP has a campground, too!! (Super convenient). 🏠 Harman’s Luxury Log Cabins! Stay right along the North Fork river (about 50 mins from Blackwater Falls) •Massive property with STUNNING views, trails, wildlife, world-class fishing, tubing + more! Each cabin comes with a private hot tub and all the amenities! 🗺 𝐀𝐥𝐬𝐨, 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐲: •Dolly Sods Wilderness (catch sunrise at Bear Rocks Preserve)!! •Seneca Rocks •Chimney Top •Nelson Rocks Via Ferrata •Spruce Knob + so more. ❓What state park have you seen the most amazing fall foliage in?!
