👩🏻‍🎨Do you feel pressure to only SHOW your best work? What about the ones you have reserved feelings about? The ones that caused so much frustration. Do you ever show them? I think it’s a good idea to not only show those pieces but embrace those pieces. Cause without them, how could we explore & find a new direction or know what NOT to do again. This one remained hidden for 15 years. Worked on it several times & has so many built up layers. I don’t ever think I lost my mind as much as I did with this painting. Went nuts with the oil sticks! I gave up & hiding (besides destroying) was the best option 🥰 I recently came across this piece while looking for another painting. With fresh eyes, I remembered the frustration, but no longer felt it. So decided to reveal today for the first time. My previous judgement is based on my experience with it & this is about letting go & embracing.
