Try this to get in touch with your interoception and physical awareness in general. It’s also a great tool to change state on demand. Try this a few times when you’re hungry (should be right side) and after when you’re digesting (should be left side). If you’re tossing and turning before bed, it’ll probably be right side. If you can start recognizing where you’re nervous system is in different situations you can begin to work with it. Down regulate with calming music, reading, baths, breathing with focused lengthened nasal exhales. Up regulate with movement, dynamic breathing with some mouth based breaths, laughter, sunlight.
