Review: 📚 Reign 📚 Thank you to PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook of Reign and thank you to Get Underlined for the first three books in the series box set. These opinions are my own. I love this series. It asks such great questions about history and the way we arrived where we are. And that's all under fun stories with gossip and scandal and romance. This fourth book in the American Royals picks up after the cliffhanger ending of book three. If you want to avoid series spoilers, I highly recommend not reading the synopsis of this book. Rather than provide a summary, I'll keep my review to the feel of the book. Reign is a fitting conclusion to the series. It continues with all the drama and emotional upheavals that we have come to expect. There's so much intrigue and rumor and questions of loyalty or betrayal. It kept me engaged and guessing throughout. There wasn't quite the same level of engagement with political and social issues that previous books have had. I found myself missing those pieces. I am still left wondering how I feel about some of the main characters and still impressed that Katharine McGee can get me to empathize with and like the supposed villains. And as I read, I found myself still hoping for a happily ever after romance for all my favorite couples. It was so great to return to this world. This series is what has cemented Brittany Pressley as one of my all-time favorite narrators. I'm in awe of her ability to give each of the women different personalities with recognizably different voices, and she performs all of the supporting cast just as well. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ QOTD: What book would you love to see as a TV series?
