Sometimes it’s nice to dress up. 🥂✨ (Ad- pr stay) Nestled just a few miles out of Stratford lies the most gorgeous hotel and spa. @billesleymanor is absolutely beautiful and it was such a pleasure to stay here. The food was exquisite and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The meal last night was up there with the best food I’ve EVER had. The hotel has so much character that has been lovingly preserved. Whilst the interiors are clean and modern, they still remain sympathetic to the rich history of the building. Originally owned by the Trussell family, who, like most have endured mixed fortunes. The house has been owned by one of the Parliamentarians who helped to depose King Edward II, an accused highway robber, a wealthy merchant, a knight and even the crown! It really does have a rich and interesting history. Notice the room with the books on the ceiling in the last photo? This is where Shakespeare is thought to have written the play ‘As you like It.’ Amazing! There’s wonky floors, old windows, little nooks, hidden cupboards and so much character to this hotel. Alongside this is contemporary spa offering a sauna, pool and steam room, as well as a number of treatment rooms where you can really be pampered. The location is so perfect too. There’s obviously a lot to do in Stratford including Shakespeare’s birthplace and grave.
