Three 3 C's for creating art: Courage- definition-the ability to do something that frightens one. 🖌Artistically, this means having the ability to try something- just have a go. You don't need to be spoonfed all the steps to learn. Trying to figure out the difference between wet on wet vs wet on dry? Take a small piece of watercolor paper and try both. See what happens, figure out which one you prefer. Confidence- definition- the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something. 🖌Artistically, this means trusting the process- pushing through the ugly phase. When your painting looks like it's a mess, keep going. See it to the end, you'll be surprised and glad you had faith in yourself. And if it turns out awful, that's ok too. You'll have subconsciously learned a ton. Cistakes- (I couldn't find another C word for mistake 🙈) definition- wrong action or statement proceeding from faulty judgment, inadequate knowledge, or inattention. 🖌Artistically, this means letting yourself make cistakes; some of my favorite paintings are riddled with them and I incorporate them into new paintings now. If you're too scared of making cistakes, you won't grow and evolve as an artist. Make those cistakes- you'll learn so much These three pieces are a result of having made tons of cistakes through the years.
