Let’s swatch Merit Solo Shadows 🖤 The @merit Solo Shadows have quickly taken over my eyeshadow game. The ease. The shades. The longevity. All factors that I personally look for when it comes to a one and done shadow for my minimalistic makeup vibes. And Merit, well they absolutely nailed it. The cream-to-powder formula provides a soft, diffused matte finish look, that you genuinely can’t mess up. The creamy formula can be blended out into a more sheer wash of color or can be layered for a more opaque color payoff. They then set down to a basically budgeproof formula that last impeccably well. I did experience minimal creasing around the 8 hour mark, but if any cream product can last 8 hours on my oily, hooded lids, I’ll take that as a win. Now for the caveat. Not all shades perform the same. The more neutral tones: Midcentury, Social, Studio, and Vachetta - they are GOLD and perform exactly how I mentioned above. My approved shades list if you will. Brun, Viper and Midnight are not as creamy to the touch as the previous mentioned four and can apply a bit patchy (sometimes). I find that finger application tends to work a bit better to counteract that. And honestly they are worth the extra effort, because Viper and Midnight are STUNNING shades. Nelson on the other hand was the only shade that instantly went creasey on me. However, it is an ideal gray brown tone that gives off dirty smokey eye goodness. Paired with the creasing, it’s giving MAJOR 90s grunge vibes, so I can’t be mad at it! Verdict: I’m a solo shadow STAN! Are you?
