Read on… 👉 A mother faced an unexpected and distressing situation: As she loaded her belongings and her two little ones, aged 4 and 2, onto a train, it’s doors suddenly closed, and it began its journey southward, with her children on board. In this moment of crisis, Deputies Romero and Johnson of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Transit Police Bureau became real-life heroes. They acted swiftly, ensuring the train would make a stop at Hayward Park Station to reunite the family. Both deputies met the train and took custody of the children, providing much-needed reassurance. Meanwhile, Deputy Larsen of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Millbrae Bureau extended a helping hand to the mother. Providing her with a courtesy ride to Hayward Park Station, where a heartwarming reunion awaited. As these compassionate deputies learned more about the family's circumstances, they discovered the family had just arrived from Antioch, with nowhere to go and no financial means to support themselves. The deputies took the family to a nearby hotel, generously covering the costs for the night.
