• 💛 T U E S D A Y • R E V I E W 💛 #168-Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll Pub Date: Out Now! 💪🏼”I really liked it” Here’s Why: Wow..I don’t know what I expected but it was not this. This was complex and extremely well written. You can really tell Knoll did her research and took her time with this. In fact, I read this one much slower then I read most books. I took my time with it, read it slowly and really got into it. This is a thriller, yes, because of the subject matter. However, it is full of rich details, memorable characters and set up in a more procedural style. Not police procedural, more investigation and exploration if that makes sense. I would label it crime fiction or literary fiction. I appreciated that this was written in two timelines. Both POVs (Ruth and Pamela) are so detailed you really connected with them. It was extremely powerful and thought provoking. The reader gets to see the trauma that the victims go through and the people left behind. The grief is raw and almost desperate. Knoll was honest about societal and social norms during the 70s and how women were treated. I will be thinking about this one for a long time. It is fabulously done and heartbreaking.
