Age is just a number.. We say it quite often, but the truth is that age is much more than that: age is a privilege, a great experience, a lot of memories and achievements, hundreds ups and downs, losses and victories… meetings and breaks.. strong lifetime friendships and betrayals… changing body.. When people say that I don’t look like 62 and name other numbers (52, 42 and funnily 26!!😂) I want to disagree with them. All my years are mine! And they all matter! I was very busy, committed and excited in my twenties, very focused, driven and successful in my thirties and forties, very happy and relaxed in my fifties and now I am in love in my early sixties.. And every year I was so thankful for my family and friends, my teachers and teammates (and even my enemies!) for being there for me. . . “What are your secrets, Lola?” - one of the most FAQ. A keen interest in life, respect for your body, love for the world around you, loving participation in the lives of people close to you, the joy of learning new things, moderation in food and alcohol, lots of reading, small but daily physical activity - all these are necessary elements for maintaining a person in the adult phase of aging (inevitably!) without being badly affected by it. . . Unfortunately, in many cultures (countries), including Russia, there’s a lot of negativity about aging, especially when it comes to aging women. Lots of social taboos, double standards and old “rules” are very common in society. Interestingly, the most ruthless in this regard are often women themselves. 🤷‍♀️🤔 My account was created for me by my daughters who thought that my example would help other women to embrace their own aging bodies and would give them confidence and courage. They were so naive! 🤷‍♀️Maybe if I was overweighted unhealthy and full of pain and problems it would work out better?🤔 . . Have a great day, my dear friends!
