Within the next week I will set out to conquer not one, but TWO big life goals. 🌟🌟🌟 Both are something I’ve been training and practising for for a long time, but in very different ways! The first of them happens this sunday, and it is running my first full length marathon. While I've never thought of myself as "a runner," somehow, running has almost always played a role in my life due to my involvement in various martial arts and other physical challenges I've aspired to conquer. Approximately 15 years ago, I made a somewhat informal commitment to someday run a marathon. Recognising that time waits for no one, I decided in February that 2023 would be the year to fulfill that promise. I planned a fairly comprehensive training program, drawing upon the insights of a few athlete acquaintances and the wealth of information available online, and I have been sticking almost tirelessly to it ever since. My longest run to date has covered 30 kilometers, so I am well aware that this upcoming marathon will pose quite the challenge! The second goal involves a long flight and nearly two weeks spent in one of the darkest places on Earth. Unlike the first goal, this is not merely an objective or a "challenge." It has been one of my biggest dreams for 7-8 years, and I can't believe I'm finally going. I won't reveal more details about this journey just yet, but everyone close to me already knows my destination.
