Today’s spin is Pearl Jam - Backspacer (2009) Backspacer, the ninth studio album by Pearl Jam, was released 14 years ago today! It’s easily the band’s most underrated album. I know we recently spun this one, but we can’t pass up the chance to celebrate a PJ record anniversary. I just got back last weekend from seeing Pearl Jam destroy the stage in Ft Worth. Such a fun show. Night 2 even got some Backspacer love - “Unthought Known” and “Just Breathe” were played. The latter always reminds me of Mrs VinylWithDad when I hear it live. It seems like whenever she’s next to me at a PJ show, they’ll play “Just Breathe”. I used to say Ed must know we’re there because he always plays it for us, but apparently I get it when she’s not there, too. Beautiful song.
