I’ve said this before, but being a Queen is no walk in the park. Here is what being a QUEEN means to me: 1. Be a woman of integrity - do the right thing even when no one is watching. Chose your actions based on values rather than personal gain. Success without integrity is failure. 2. Be a woman of duty and honor - devote your life to helping others, upholding justice, and expressing gratitude to those who help you. 3. Don’t lie or steal - be a person of trustworthy character, one that is honest and moral. Be a person who holds themselves to be responsible and owns up for their own actions and words, including when you f up. 4. Be empathetic - put yourself in other people’s shoes, fight for justice and don’t pretend to be better than or above others. 5. Be gracious and kind - use intelligence, elegance and class to communicate your beliefs and leave a positive influence on the world. Stand up for what is right, even if you stand alone but don’t be a jerk about it. Talk as if your mother is listening to every word. 6. Be authentic - embrace all that you are; your strength and your vulnerability; the warrior inside and the feminine caring creature. Do not conform to pressure from others, make up your own mind and be consistent in your values, actions, principles, virtue and demeanor. 7. Don’t play a victim - nobody is responsible for your well-being or position. Set expectations, demand respect (and give it too), and project power. One cannot stay in control by blaming others. 8. Don’t criticize (yourself or others) out of spite or without full knowledge. We are all humans, we make mistakes, and have flaws. But queens don’t point fingers - they have a backbone, and the mental capacity to create boundaries, avoid vengeance, and woman up. 9. Build and nurture trusting friendships - offer unconditional love and support; give more than you take; provide courage and understanding in hard times, not only in good. 10. Place your crown firmly on your head, but pass it on too. You must help others find their own power and pave their own path in life.
