In the late-1960s, AC's marketing department played on a popular set of TV characters to help promote their new machine: "Tonto and the Lone Ranger are actually Chief Bear-Step and Joe Schessler. Joe is product service manager for the Deerfield Plant, which produces the 745 articulated loader.
