VIRAL NYC SANDWICH from Mama’s Too• chicken cutlets on toasted bread topped with EXTRA creamy vodka sauce, i topped mine with fresh mozzarella then drizzled with pesto. Omg…. Sprinkled with red crushed pepper flakes this was 🤌🏼 i don’t think I’ll ever stop making them. I see why they’re viral’! My sister in law sent me this video and immediately says “you have to make this”- We’re both originally from NY so this made sense. My only condition was- we make it + taste test TOGETHER 🤍 RECIPE: CHICKEN: Try and grab THIN cut chicken breasts and if they’re still not thin- pound them down as thin as you can go! Season both sides with salt and black pepper. Dip into an egg wash then a combo of equal parts Italian bread crumbs, panko, and parmesan cheese. Set them aside on a rack. Or you can begin to fry now (i do mine after the sauces are complete) VODKA SAUCE: minus the vodka- it’s just a creamy tomato sauce but wow- everytime i make this I’m reminded over and over just how darn good it is! -with a drizzle of oil in a pan add 4oz tomato paste and 1 tsp minced garlic. 1 tsp onion powder, dried basil, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, paprika, red crushed pepper, salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Then 1 1/2 TBSP sugar. Mix well. Then add 1 1/2 cups heavy cream and allow it to come together. Set aside PESTO: i cheated and used store bought. Only because i love the one from Costco so much If you haven’t cooked the chicken yet- go ahead and fry them until GOLDEN and cooked through on both sides. Allow to rest on a cooling rack -toast your bread + ASSEMBLE! •chicken, extra vodka sauce, cheese of choice, drizzle of pesto and those red crushed peppers if you like. + WOW!
