REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐🌟 My thanks to @BookSparks for #gifting me a copy. Julieta And The Romeos is a cute book that addresses what’s important in identifying “your” Romeo. It’s also about roots and family, and I even appreciated the author’s touch of humor here and there. Those who speak Spanish will like seeing phrases throughout the story. Though I don’t speak that language, the meaning was always clear enough. When Julieta is chosen to participate in a summer writing class, her teacher wants the class to publish their work online. Though Julieta is sharing her writing about love on the Internet, she isn’t expecting any comments. So she's overjoyed when someone starts commenting. The summer grows more and more exciting when she imagines her new contributor, Happily Ever Drafter, to be her possible Romeo. And just to make things even more interesting, Julieta is beginning to bond with three guys during the summer. Two she knows and one new to the neighborhood. The plot thickens. Concerns While I found this good in so many ways, I needed it to hold my interest more. It felt long and didn’t have enough excitement in the middle. Final Thoughts This was a very cute story with lots of underlying messages. I was extremely surprised and relieved that it felt early-teen appropriate. No sex and very, very mild language. Argentinian culture is woven throughout since Julieta’s family came from there, and they currently own a restaurant. This is a coming-of-age story that was clean and offered meaningful things to ponder and even discuss with others. Of course, one of the things I appreciated was Andreu’s subtle sense of humor.
