Well I can't avoid Edinburgh any longer.The only reason I left it so late is that I have too many photos to choose from the scottish capital. Edinburgh is Scotland's compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Boasting an eclectic mix of cobblestone streets and cocktail clubs, historical buildings and fresh attitudes, Edinburgh is an ancient yet vibrant city and the second most visited in the UK. So avoiding the crowds is not possible and book ahead if you want to visit the castle for it is the most popular destination in the city. In every corner of Edinburgh the famed, centuries-old Edinburgh Castle can be seen, perched high upon a rock, creates and impressive backdrop. Alongside two UNESCO heritage sites, Edinburgh plays host to over 4,500 listed structures. Of these, approximately 900 are in the highest category with over 75% as listed buildings in the city, only beaten by London. I love the vibe of Edinburgh whether it's on The Royal mile, Princess Street, Jacobs ladder, Arthur's seat or the many little places to eat, drink and countless other wonderful venues. There wasn't enough time to do and see all. While I have been here many times it never fails to take my breath away. Especially with fine weather. I've included just a flavour of the many aspects in this post and will show more later for I have so many photos from Edinburgh.
