Staircase at the Itamaraty Palace, Brasilia, Brazil, 1970 Architects: Staircase: Milton Ramos Building: Oscar Niemeyer The Palácio do Itamaraty serves as the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and is where diplomatic meetings, events, and official ceremonies take place. It is an iconic example of modernist architecture and is considered one of the most important and beautiful buildings in Brasília. The building was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and completed in 1970. Its unique and futuristic design is characterized by its long, sweeping arches and the use of concrete and glass.
