You Only Fail When You Stop Trying 💪🏻 All surgery has risks, and not everyone gets a perfect result every time. This is a good lesson on how things don't always go as planned, and that sometimes it takes time, good communication, and a change in plans to achieve the best results. 💕 This patient in her early 20s came to Dr. Buchanan in 2021 for a primary breast augmentation. Although she had some normal baseline asymmetry, she underwent sub-muscular breast augmentation with 305 cc moderate profile silicone gel implants. Although she initially had a nice result, over 1-2 years, her soft tissues did not support the weight of the implant and the pressure of the muscle pushing down, causing the implant to descend on to the upper abdomen. She came back to Dr. Buchanan wanting to change things and sought his expertise on how to achieve an improved result. 💥 About 6 weeks ago, she underwent a revision breast augmentation procedure where the implant was removed and replaced with a 470 cc high profile silicone gel implant, and her pocket was converted from an under the muscle to a pre-pectoral (in front of the muscle) pocket, the fold was reset, and the soft tissue was reinforced with an internal bra mesh.
