I get asked about the meaning behind my 🏔️ tattoo a lot - which I love. It gives me the opportunity to tell people about the goodness of God, and the miracles I’ve seen. Right before Elliott was diagnosed, she attended a MDO Program at our church. That Christmas their class did a program and sang “Go Tell it On the Mountain.” As a three year old, it became her favorite song. She sang it LOUDLY, and she sang it often 🥰 (we even have a video of her singing it in front of HardRock Cafe in Universal Studios) In January, after returning home from a Christmas Vacation to Disney, we were given the diagnosis. Our spunky, full of life, three year old had stage IV cancer. The night before her big surgery, while stuck in a hospital bed, with tubes and wires stuck all over her our little Elles sang LOUDLY and proud, hand motions and all, for everyone to hear! It was in that moment that God moved in me like never before. If my sweet girl could sing PRAISES I’m the midst of this scary, unknown, situation - still trusting and giving it all to him. So will I. A year after her treatment was finished, Eric and I decided to get a tattoo to honor her fight, and the victory he brought us to. For me, my tattoo is a visual reminder, that in those dark valleys - he is good, and on the highest mountain - he is good.
