He didn't try to make her believe that things would be fine instead he gave her a reality check of how this ignorance of her would be harming herself and her ambition of catching her grandfather's killer.. In desperation, people need a solid path to follow instead of hollow words. . Also If you have noticed he ignored the eye contact when she looked above ..and him ignoring the eye contact was way more intimate and intense than having eye contact in usual romantic scenes( not hate to them). He loves her and generally, we avoid eye contact with people we are heavily in crush or love because it's too intense also she was grieving so he couldn't look too long at her eyes as it was heavy to look at. My love and appreciation for his character just keep increasing ..also the writers are so good with pulling the storyline without uncovering the killer till here..clap for them 👏..not easy to pull off, usually you guess, or get bored 😂.
