🇮🇹 Why visit Naples Italy? 🇮🇹 I absolutely love Naples — yet when I bring it up with fellow travelers, there are always people who want to know, “Why there? Isn’t it dirty? Is it safe?” Naples used to be a lot more dangerous in the 20th century than it is today; today it’s as safe as almost large cities and most people are fine if they follow basic travel safety (keep a hand on your purse, don’t walk around blackout drunk, etc). It IS a lot dirtier than most popular spots in Italy. That is true. But that can be lived with (I recommend wearing closed-toe shoes in case you come across any broken glass). More importantly, the food is REALLY REALLY GOOD. Naples is the home of pizza — and it’s better than any you’ve ever had, anywhere. Not just the margherita, but how about nontraditional pizzas like mortadella and pistachio? Naples also has outstanding seafood, pastas, and desserts. Just dive into everything, ask staff for recommendations, and be sure to add a digestive at the end of your meal to make it all go together.
