New work! Marco Polo 95x85 cm oil and tempera on canvas The composition of the painting expresses the borderline condition of the heroine between the idle curiosity and fascination. Her pose is typical to depict this kind of moment, which I personally saw a few times in my life and maybe experienced myself. However, I payed attention to the outstanding dynamic expression of this pose after I saw a sculpture of the artist, who is also happened to be my friend. Tiles on the background enrich the sense of lady’s interaction with the book. Images are painted with tempera and were not copied, but designed especially for this painting. In combination with the pose it led to the name of the work: Marco Polo — the name of the famous traveller and explorer, who wrote a book about his adventures. ~~~ Марко Поло 95х85 см Композиция картины рассказывает о пограничном состоянии героини между праздным любопытством и увлеченностью. Поза фигуры очень типична и характерна для изображения такого момента, какой не раз сам наблюдал, а может и переживал в жизни. Но обратить мое внимание на пластическую выразительность жеста мне помогла скульптура друга-ваятеля. Обогатить смыслы взаимодействия девы и книги помогает изразцовый задник. Изображения на изразцах по технике исполнения сохраняют живописную логику майолики и выполнены темперой. Композиции сюжетов придуманы специально для этой картины и в сочетании с позой героини натолкнули на название холста: Марко Поло - имя великого путешественника, оставившего миру книгу о своих странствиях. #oiloncanvas #oilpainting #andreyremnev #tempera
