Girl of the OvaNguendelengo ethnic group. Our first tribal visit was to the Ovanguendelengo in a remote village in the Bibala area close to the Leba pass. They were formerly known as the Nguendelengo. The tribes have all reverted to their true names rather than those imposed upon them by the Portuguese colonisers. Few people have seen these people. They live in small groups remotely and are beautiful. They live simply and sustainably and are pastoralists dependent on their goats and cattle. They also grow crops if water is available. They are inextricably connected to the environments in which they live and are reflections of their biophysical zones. Their colourful attire is a wonderful contrast to the semi arid environments in which they live. Come on our photo tour to Southern Angola in September 2024.
