Here’s a list of the supplements I’m currently taking postpartum and while breastfeeding. 👇🏻 (Share with your Mama friend!🍼) I got asked a lot through DM about the supplements I’m currently taking; please note that this is personal and you need to check with your doctor first before taking anything; to make sure of your deficiencies and advice what’s best for you and your physical needs! 🙌🏻 I ll share more insight on each one below! 🥰 1. Prenatal Multivitamin, containing Folate as a more natural source than folic acid and DHA, to support mama and baby’s overall health, Most health care providers recommend taking a prenatal vitamin as long as you are breastfeeding to ensure your baby continues to get sufficient nutrients like A,D and B vitamins, DHA and iodine. 2. Calcium, to support mamas bone health especially while breast feeding, Calcium helps build strong bones and teeth, and plays an important role in helping the circulatory, muscular, and nervous systems work properly. 3. Magnesium, Magnesium is a key electrolyte that helps your body maintain proper fluid balance. And while proper fluid balance is important throughout your lifetime, it is especially important during the postpartum stage to support your body’s demands and to help support your milk supply. 4. Iron, Iron is needed in postpartum to help rebuild blood after loss from delivery and lochia (the normal phase of bleeding that can last weeks after delivery). Baby needs Iron in-utero to support a healthy birth weight and on-time neurodevelopment. 5. Fenugreek seeds, a type of seed that can help increase your breast milk supply. When a woman is breastfeeding, her milk supply sometimes might decrease due to stress, fatigue, or a variety of other factors. If you feel like your supply is dwindling, consuming fenugreek can be a simple, effective way to boost your production. Happy Motherhood Mamas!
