Revenons sur la genèse de la bouteille Salon 1948 offerte au Roi Charles III. C’est dans l’œnothèque de la Maison Salon que se trouvait ce petit trésor caché depuis 75 ans. Le millésime 1948 ne comptait alors plus que 9 bouteilles ! Nous avons prélevé l’un de ces flacons pour le dégorger tout spécialement pour le Roi Charles III quelques jours auparavant. Cette opération manuelle consiste à extraire le dépôt de la bouteille, garantie de sa fraîcheur absolue. La bouteille a ensuite été habillée entièrement à la main : coiffe, collerette et étiquette d’époque ont été apposées avec le plus grand soin. • Let’s take a look at the origins of the bottle of Champagne Salon 1948 offered to King Charles III. This little jewel has remained hidden away in the Salon’s Oenothèque for 75 years. Only 9 bottles of the 1948 vintage existed then! We have selected one of those bottles especially for King Charles III and disgorged it only days ahead of its presentation. This manual operation consists in extracting deposit from the bottle and is a guarantee of the wine’s absolute freshness. The bottle was then dressed entirely by hand: a sleeve, neck band and label of the period were applied with utmost care.
