Where are my c-section mumma’s at? 🤩 After a labour that wasn’t progressing & a failed induction of labour (I declined further intervention after the tablet in my womb & no progress was made after 24 hours), I pushed for a c-section. I was never scared about having a c section, & wanted one over the synthetic oxytocin drip. I had used @thebirthuprising hypnobirthing course which is absolutely worth every penny! 🥰 The needle was a weird sensation, I could feel the fluid tricking into my spine💉 but had so much support from everyone around me & Steve. I also opted to have the catheter in after the spinal tap (needle) so I couldn’t feel a thing from the tummy down. The anaesthetist was absolutely amazing & the whole procedure took approx 2/3 hours - as Vincent was born not breathing -(this was so unbelievably scary - I can remember saying to Steve “I can’t hear any crying, something is wrong” followed by a midwife saying “come on little man” 😢 Vincent was taken away for support. When his levels were stabilised a short while later, Steve did get opportunity to cut the cord before Vincent went to NICU. I missed my golden hour but so glad baby boy is okay. I then went to a room to recover whilst Steve sat in NICU. I needed support & wheelchair transport for a day or so, then I was encouraged to start moving to aid the recovery process. My healing process was interrupted with an infected c-section wound & my gosh the fear of sneezing & coughing is something else! 🤪 But 7 months post section, everything is healed & my scar is all good.
