🌴 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧 🏝️⁠ The world-famous Maya Bay will open on the 1st of October⁠ after a break for a few months for its natural recovery🌱⁠ ⁠ The beach is a 200m stretch of powder white sand with clear shallow water that is framed by dramatic limestone cliffs. ⁠The bay has vibrant coral gardens and colourful marine life where black-tip reef sharks can be spotted. 🐠🦈 ⁠ ⁠ Maya Bay is like the holy grail of all Thai destinations. ⁠ Ask any of your friends; they've probably been there! 📍⁠ ⁠ The movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio made the bay world famous. 🌏 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘦?!📹⁠ ⁠ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞. 🆘😓⁠ Back in 2018, Marine Park officers decided to close Maya Bay to all visitors. ⛔️⁠ The number of boats visiting the bay was out of control, ⁠ where the daily visitors reached 6,000 per day! 🙅‍♂️❌⁠ ⁠ The Bay’s fragile ecosystem was suffering badly.⁠ 🔊 Mother Nature screamed for a timeout! ⁠ The bay was closed for nearly four years and re-opened again In January this year. ⁠ ⁠ 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: ⁠ The visitors are limited to 3,000 visitors/day.⁠ Boats are not allowed to enter the bay; instead, you must enter the new pontoon on the opposite side of the bay and walk into the bay by a ‘pier’.
