I quit my job and this happened…17 months of travel later, I’m reflecting on what I’ve done, what I’ve learnt, and how I have grown.⠀ ⠀ I was asked by a traveler last night to share a moment I was really happy. At first I struggled and said something about getting my doctorate. ⠀ ⠀ It felt disingenuous. That wasn’t when I was really happy. It was when I was told I’d be happy and my parents would be proud of me. ⠀ ⠀ I thought again and stories from my travels were what came to mind. ⠀ ⠀ The people I’ve met, the stories I’ve heard, and the beauty of the unknown have made the most wonderful memories.⠀ ⠀ I need to unpack it all and share in detail about these life-changing experiences. I owe you all vlogs of day in the lives and showing you what I got up to. ⠀ ⠀ I wouldn’t have had these incredible moments had I not started living for myself and taken the risk. It’s so hard to fall under societal expectations, money milestones, and having conventional success. All things I still want but not at the cost of living my life.
