🦁 A truly unforgettable lion sighting! A few days ago we found these lionesses by the river crossing. These two large females were introduced on @abelanagamereserve in June 2023 and in August, a young female temporarily associated with one of the two females. Since then, we have seen them all together or separated. The young female clearly benefits of the presence of the older females as she is quite young to easily successfully hunt on her own. The three lionesses were incredibly relaxed and it was pretty entertaining to see them walking through the rocks, being careful not to fall in the water. One of the largest lionesses got onto the bridge behind the vehicle but when she realised that there was no space for her to pass by, she went back on the rocks, looked at us (see the second photo) and then continued to walk on the rocks until she could come back on the road in front of us.
