👉 What first comes to mind when you hear the phrase “the spiritual life”? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you think of your “spiritual life” as something altogether separate from the rest of your life? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If so, you may be suffering from the same disease that so many in our modern day are afflicted by: disintegration (or Cartesian dualism). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The belief that our bodies are simply “cages” for our souls or that we are “ghosts in a machine” is the result of bad philosophy, and it’s wounded us all in some way - not only in secular culture but in the Church as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We need to correct this error and base our understanding of the human person on the truth that our physical and psychological functioning *isn’t something* totally unrelated to our spiritual life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍 Like if you agree! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #catholicpsych #beinghuman #integration #jp2 #personalism #bodyandspirit #union #humanbeing #youaregood #experience #yourexperiencematters #catholicworldview #catholictherapy #catholictherapist #catholicanthropology #truth #integrated #integratedlife #heresy #dualism
