Keys to peace? Education & Sports. Apart from doing our @womaninactionph episode, we went to Basilan to bring some laptops 💻 balls 🏐 phones 📱 and learning kits 💽 for the school kids and teachers. Maraming salamat @cebupacificair for being one with us in our mission to help these kids! Thank you for taking care of our logistical and transportation needs to be able to bring all the goodies to Mindanao! How do you get to Basilan? ✈️ to Zamboanga City ⛴️ to Isabela or Lamitan City Cycles of violence have caused post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) amongst adults and the youth, and one of the best ways to heal the deep wounds of war is by diverting people’s energies into productive endeavors. People need opportunities to have a better life. In Basilan’s most recent and largest Youth Congress, it was quite surprising how “recruitment by outside forces” is not anymore the #1 concern. Drug use and the lack of opportunities top the list. Hopefully, more will come to provide resources, opportunities, investments and ultimately, hope for our fellow Basileños 🙏🏻🇵🇭 #WIABasilan #Basilan #Philippines
