Biography
In 1842 Pietro Riva left Laglio for Sarnico, on the Iseo Lake, where the unique story of the Riva Shipyard began an absolute reference point in a prestigious and exclusive world. Late 19th and early 20th centuries, fishing boats then steamboats and racing boats formed Riva production. Under Carlo's management, Riva became popular with the international jet set. Owning a Riva became a distinctive mark of style and elegance. In the Seventies the production of fibreglass hulls began alongside that of the classical mahogany models. In 2000 Riva entered the Ferretti Group, in order to increase the value and its culture. Thus, new models were created from the union between Norberto Ferretti and Mauro Micheli. Tangible, immediate results once again confirmed the distinctive features of a brand which, for over 175 years, has been telling a success story of the continuous balance between tradition and innovation.
