Biography

Half Palestinian/Half Egyptian Ahmad Abu Baker, a rap singer and song-writer from the Old City of Jerusalem. My love for music started at a very early stage in my life and was also accompanied by my desire to learn English language. I love rap music so much that I would listen for hours on end to different singers, trying to learn the lyrics, asking my teachers at school about their meanings and re-listening to the same song repeatedly. My own attempts to pursue a career as a singer and song-writer were further obstructed by the lack of funding and support from different cultural and funding organisations as rap was & still mostly unknown or unappreciated by the these organisations and the community. Furthermore, the responsibilities of establishing my own family and the need to earn a living meant that my music dreams had to be put on the back-burner, but never abandoned.
