The American Folk Art Museum (AFAM) is thrilled to partner with writer, artist, and folk art enthusiast Isa Segalovich (@interstellar_isabellar) for a multi-part video series featuring quilts on view in “What That Quilt Knows About Me.” In today’s video, Isa walks us through the fascinating story behind this dazzling jewel-like quilt by Carl Klewicke. You can see this quilt and dozens more on view at AFAM through October 29, 2023. Admission is always free! 🎨 “Original Design Quilt,” by Carl Klewicke (1835–1913), Corning, New York c. 1907. Pieced silk, faille, taffeta, and satin, 60 x 72 1/2 in. American Folk Art Museum, New York, Museum purchase, 2012.1.1. #folkart #textileart #quilting #quilt #quilts #americanart #tailor
