I just deleted the Instagram app from my phone. This post is coming from a posting/scheduling service I paid for in an attempt to engage with social media in a more healthy way. I’ll be sharing a few things via that service throughout the summer - mostly for Keepr - but I gotta tell you all, immediately after deleting the app from my phone - I felt lighter. Lighter, clearer, and less angry. . I find myself increasingly less interested in books, drawing, and all the other educational, experiential, and beautiful things out in the world that don’t require a screen. And Nature, Nature is something I find I need even more and more of to balance out all the screen time. Maybe not so ironically then, Nature is what suffers the most as we lean into an expanding digital landscape. . Whatever time was spent scrolling, I’d like it to be spent walking or meditating, or reading. Whoever I was comparing myself to online, I’d like that energy to go towards self-acceptance. When I find myself seeking validation, I want that search to be internal. . �I’ve included some deeper thoughts in the comments below. I might sound frustrated in some of them and that's because I am - selfishly as an entrepreneur trying to get his business off the ground but also as a human being that believes we aren’t past the point of no return. We all play a part in this and I want to explore more of what mine is. I’m going to take a step back and see what opens up for me. . Sending lots of love and strength to all of you.
