This look was unexpected! I knew I wanted to lighten the wood with a neutral color wash, but to my surprise, after I was done applying the paint, the wood looked too light. To bring some warmth to the finish, I added a coat of Western Oak, a fast drying oil stain color from @varathane. Yes, you can add an oil based product over a water based paint as long as you wait at least 24 hours for the paint to dry. What do you think of this after?
