Planking is not an “off limits” exercise for postpartum core strengthening. In fact, it’s one of the first movements I incorporate in my clients programs as a pelvic floor PT. 💫A front plank loads our abdominal wall and generates tension across the linea alba; this is needed for core strengthening + diastasis healing. 💫Understanding deep core engagement and how to breathe to best manage intra-abdominal pressure is an important starting point. Once you have that down begin to challenge your core with these progressions! 💫 Watch my back in the these positions, notice how I keep my hips up and chest down.
