👉Everything is an intervention, even the 'little things'. 👂When planning my birth, the idea of having someone press something against my stomach, whilst they waited to receive a number, that would supposedly communicate something about the wellbeing of my baby, felt like a big disturbance. 🚫I'd declined various parts of my maternity care throughout my pregnancy and planned to do the same during birth. 🚫But then I realised that actually, everything was actually an intervention and all of it was optional. ➡️We went from asking ourselves, 'When will it feel right to call the midwives to our home?' To, 'Maybe we won't want to call anyone to the birth.' 💜I landed on the realisation that freebirth was for me after a journey of research and planning. 👉And that's just it.👈 ➡️YOU are the one who gets to decide the details of your birth and they can be as 'unconventional' or as unusual as you like. ❓What do you want or not want during birth?
