I could not start my vegetable garden this summer. There was a lot going on and carving the time out for gardening didn’t look feasible. But, I didn’t want to miss the fun of shooting fresh produce. When you don’t have produce to photograph, go after the ones that carry the best ones. And, that’s exactly what I did. I visited a couple of farms in India and here in CT and kept clicking to my heart’s content. You’d be seeing back to back posts of these clicks in the days/weeks to come. Stay tuned! Here’s another awesomely delicious and nutritious tropical fruit, Sitaphal or Custard Apple. It has delicate flesh that is very juicy and sweet. Eating them can be a pain, though, as there’s more seeds than flesh in them and you’ve gotta have a trash bag near you to keep spitting them out. You need a good amount of patience to enjoy it. Many don’t prefer this fruit just for this reason. There’s only lovers and big time haters of this fruit, there’s no in between. It is very common to see a tree or two of Custard Apple in most backyards of South Indian homes. We had a couple of them at my parents’ and they gave the finest fruits, I’ve ever eaten. After many many years I got to enjoy a couple of them that were from my friend’s farm in India, recently. What a treat it was!!
