DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED MEDICAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This year I had the honor to serve for the Department of Defense and the CDMRP (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs)as a consumer advocate - to be a voice for anyone affected by breast cancer. ⁣⁣ I was able to lend my experiences, acquired knowledge and insight in hopes of moving the needle to meet the goal of the program, which is to achieve “a world without breast cancer.” Anything I do for this community is aligned with this purpose - so to serve was a true honor. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ While I cannot discuss any of the details ⁣of the peer review process nor research applications due to confidentiality, I can affirm that there are countless brilliant minds and researchers who are working tirelessly to help end breast cancer. The research on the horizon renewed my hope for future treatment and outcomes. ⁣⁣ ⁣ This year we served virtually but the program will hopefully return to Washington DC in the near future 🙏🏼⁣ ⁣ ⁣I feel a deep sense of fulfillment having served this first year and hope to serve for years to come.
