Happy hangover free Sunday! Today I am waking up with 8 years of sobriety! 8 years of no hangovers! Actually, 8 years and 1 day since my sober date was yesterday 8/12/15. ⁣ ⁣ Sobriety is such a part of my life now, I didn’t even realize it was my soberversary until late yesterday. Gone are the early years of longing for booze, wishing I could drink like a normal person, and being angry at the world that I couldn’t drink.⁣ ⁣ Looking back, I'm grateful for the strength that allowed me to break free from addiction's grip. Every day, I made the choice to prioritize my health, both physical and mental, and embrace a life of sobriety, no matter how tough things got. ⁣ ⁣ Being sober is a whole different kind of freedom. Experiencing everything with a clear and present mind is a gift. Instead of missing booze, I can’t believe I used to need it to survive. ⁣ ⁣ I’m grateful to be alive today and thriving in sobriety.
